Discount Calculator Privacy Policy
Last updated 5 September 2026
This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how information is handled in connection with the Discount Calculator application (the “App”), which is developed and provided by Alper Kaplan (“we”, “us” or “our”). Discount Calculator runs entirely on your iPhone or iPad. It contains no networking code of its own, we operate no servers that receive or store your information, and we cannot see, receive or access the prices, discounts, tax rates, names or notes you enter. Everything you save stays on your Device. This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1. Definitions
1.1 “App” or “Discount Calculator” means the Discount Calculator application, together with its updates, content and documentation.
1.2 “We”, “us” and “our” mean Alper Kaplan, the developer and provider of the App.
1.3 “You” and “your” mean the person who downloads, installs or uses the App.
1.4 “Personal Data” means information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
1.5 “Device” means the iPhone or iPad on which you install and run the App.
1.6 “Apple Services” means Apple-operated services on which the App relies, such as the App Store.
1.7 “Records” means the calculations, comparisons and worksheets you create and save in the App, together with any item names, notes and links you add to them.
2. Our approach to privacy
The App has no account and no sign-in. It contains no networking code of its own and makes no requests to any server operated by us, because we operate none. Every price, discount, sales tax and total is worked out on your Device, and the Records you save are stored on your Device. Nothing you type into the App leaves your Device to reach us.
3. Information we do not collect
We do not require an account, and we do not collect or have access to your Records. In particular, we do not:
3.1 require you to create an account or provide your name, email address or telephone number;
3.2 receive, store or have access to your Records, or anything else you type into the App, on any server operated by us;
3.3 include any advertising, analytics, attribution or tracking software in the App;
3.4 use Apple’s App Tracking Transparency, because the App performs no tracking; or
3.5 sell, rent or share your Personal Data.
4. What the App stores on your Device
The App stores your Records on your Device, together with a small number of preferences such as the currency you choose, your default sales tax rate and whether haptics are switched on. All of it is held in the App’s own storage on your Device. The App performs no iCloud synchronisation of your Records, and they are not transmitted to us. If you back your Device up, whether to iCloud or to a computer, that backup is made and handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy and may include the Records the App holds. Deleting a Record in the App deletes it from your Device, and deleting the App removes the Records it holds.
5. Device permissions
The App asks for no permissions at all. It does not request access to your camera, microphone, photo library, contacts, calendars, reminders, location or health data, and it has no need for any of them. It works only with the numbers and words you type into it.
6. Exporting and sharing a PDF
The App can turn your saved history, or a single worksheet, into a PDF. The file is created on your Device and handed to Apple’s standard share sheet, where you decide what happens to it — saving it to Files, sending it by Mail or Messages, printing it, or anything else your Device offers. We never receive the file and play no part in where it goes. Once you hand it to another app or service, that app or service handles it under its own privacy policy.
7. No analytics, advertising or tracking
The App contains no advertising, no analytics or attribution software, and no tracking of any kind. It makes no network requests of its own and shares no data with any third party for advertising or measurement. Because there is nothing to track, the App does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt. The App may occasionally invite you to rate it, using Apple’s own App Store rating prompt; that prompt is presented and handled entirely by Apple, and we receive no personal information from it.
8. Data retention
We retain no Personal Data about you on our own systems, because we never receive any. Your Records persist on your Device until you delete them in the App, or delete the App itself.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights in respect of Personal Data, such as the rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict or object to processing. Because we do not collect or hold your Personal Data or your Records on our own systems, you exercise control directly on your Device by deleting individual Records in the App, or by deleting the App. You may contact us at any time with questions, and we will respond as required by applicable law.
10. United States state privacy rights
For the purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, and comparable United States state privacy laws, we do not “sell” your personal information and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Because we do not collect Personal Data, we hold no such information to disclose, correct or delete on our side.
11. Your rights in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland (GDPR)
Because the App does not collect or process your Records on our servers, and makes no network connections of its own, we do not act as a data controller of your content. Personal data associated with the App Store is processed by Apple as an independent controller under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We (Alper Kaplan, the independent developer of the App, contactable through our support page) hold no personal data about you, and we carry out no advertising measurement and no automated decision-making. Subject to applicable law, you may exercise your data-protection rights over content on your Device directly, and with Apple for any data held by Apple. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection supervisory authority: in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner’s Office; in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner; in the EEA, your national authority.
12. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children. Because the App collects no Personal Data at all, none is collected from children either.
13. Security
Your Records are held in the App’s own storage and are protected by your Device’s built-in security, including the passcode, Face ID or Touch ID you use to unlock it. Because the App stores everything on your Device and makes no network connections of its own, your Records are never exposed in transit to us. No method of storage is completely secure, and you are responsible for keeping your Device and its passcode safe.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The date at the top indicates when it was last revised, and material changes will be reflected on this page. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
15. Contact
If you have any questions about this Policy, please contact us through our support page.
